The Word of God: We believe that the Bible, both Old and New Testaments is the Word of God, written under inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and practice. II Tim. 3:16 &17, II Pet 1:19-21 The Trinity: We believe that the Godhead exists eternally in three persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Gen. 1:26 & 27, Isa. 48:16, Lk. 3:22, Mt. 28:19, II Cor. 3:14 The Creation and Fall of Man: We believe that God created man in His own image: that man fell through sin, and therefore, all men are sinners by nature and choice. Gen. 1:1, Gen. 2:7, Gen 3:1-24, Rom. 5:12 Salvation: We believe that salvation is God's gift to those who repent of their sins and trust Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Justification is the righteousness imputed to the believer at the moment of faith. Sanctification is the on-going work of the Holy Spirit whereby the believer becomes more like Christ. Jn 11:25, Rom. 3:21-26, Gal. 3:13, Eph. 2:8 & 9 Baptism: We believe that believers should be baptized with water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, in obedience to the command of Christ and to symbolize their death to sin and resurrection to newness of life. Mt. 28:19, Acts 10:47, Gal. 3:27. The Church: We believe that the local Christian church is a congregation of believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel; observing the ordinances of baptism and communion; governing themselves by Christ's laws; electing officers as set forth by scripture, and striving together to fulfill the great commission. Lk. 22:19 & 20, Acts 2:42, Eph.4:11 & 12 Security of the Believer: We believe that all who are truly born of the Spirit, will be kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation. Jn. 10:28, II Tim. 1:12, I Jn. 2:19 Eternity: We believe that those who are righteous in Christ will enter into the presence of the Lord at death, and their bodies will be raised in glory and immortality at the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. The unsaved will be judged and suffer eternal punishment. II Cor. 5:10, Jn. 14:2 & 3, Acts 1:11 |
