In 2008, God began to reveal to me his next plan for my life: the pastorate. It wasn't until two years later that he connected me with folks from New Life Fellowship Church who were in search of a pastor. On January 3, 2010, we made it official and I became New Life's first pastor! In the summer of that same year I underwent a five-hour examination process from a handful of my peers to see if I was qualified to be ordained. In November of 2010, my ordination ceremony took place and I officially became a licensed and ordained pastor. Man, what an awesome journey my life has been! I am humbled every time I hear the phrase, "Pastor Mike."

In order to unwind, I enjoy hunting, fishing, camping with my family, coaching, and watching sporting events. Most of all, I enjoy meeting new people, which brings me back to the point of this letter: I want to personally invite you to come worship with us on a Sunday morning. After all, you can only learn so much about a church from your home or office. First hand experience is the most accurate gauge. If your heart's desire is to, "Connect your congregation, community, and culture, to Christ (this is our vision), then come be a part of our family!

I look forward to meeting you!

My name is Rachal Gort. I was born and raised here in Grant, Michigan. I'm married to Chris and we have four boys. We as a family have attended New Life Fellowship Church from the very first worship service which was in January of 2008. As of April of 2008, I was hired as the first secretary of NLF.
I feel so blessed to be able to work with such a warm welcoming church family. It has been truly amazing to see God at work here at New Life Fellowship. New Life has given our family opportunities

to serve and be involved where we never thought was possible anywhere else. Starting with praise teams which my husband plays the drums for, the men's softball team, Kidz Ministry which our children are involved with, or Kid's Music Camp which takes place during the summer. Such special relationships have formed because of NLF that we will cherish for a lifetime. We watch in awe to what God continues to do here and we are excited to see what he has in store for us in future.

We would love for you to stop in and visit us. We always have coffee, tea, or hot chocolate on hand.
Hi,
My name is Mike Connell and I am the pastor of New Life Fellowship Church. In my previous life (before I was a pastor), I worked in a variety of settings: warehouse, factory, drafting, and construction. I bounced in and out of college with no clear direction. By the age of 35, I was married with four children and had all but given up on the idea of earning a college degree, but God had other plans
It became real clear to me, through a variety of avenues, that he wanted me to go back to school. In the fall of 1999, I began attending Columbia International University in Columbia, South Carolina. In 2003, I graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Family and Church Education and moved back to Muskegon, Michigan (both my wife and I are from there) where I began serving as a Youth Pastor.
